​北京姆赛多学校

姆赛多（ Mcedo）北京学校位于内罗毕第二大贫民窟马萨雷（Mathare），于 2007 年由中国驻肯尼亚使馆捐助建设，学生全部来自这一贫民窟。为感谢中国使馆帮助，校方决定将学校改为现名。 2012 年 11 月，肯中经贸协会号召各会员企业，共筹集捐款约合5446.48 万肯先令（约300 多万人民币），进行了该校的二期扩建工程。由于姆赛多（Mcedo）北京学校的扩建，使入学人数从 200 多人增加到现在的 538 人。

 

经过十年的使用后，学校场地已严重破损。为改善该校的教学环境，肯中经贸协会 2022 年出资 713.4 万肯先令，并由中国武夷公司承建，对北京学校进行了翻新。由于整个马萨雷（Mathare）地区缺乏电力供应设备，通电问题一直困扰着该校。了解到这一情况后，肯中经贸协会的会员单位友盛集团捐赠了价值 582 万肯先令的太阳能光伏系统，解决了学校的照明问题，使学校的孩子们十五年来第一次感受到了明亮的教室，在整个马萨雷（Mathare）地区也是史无前例的。

 

在新冠疫情期间学校最困难的时候，肯中经贸协会曾多次伸出援助之手，保证了学生正常到校、安心学习。 姆赛多（Mcedo）北京学校扩建及维修项目使马萨雷（Mathare）贫民窟的人们重新认识了教育的重要性。经过姆赛多（Mcedo）北京学校的学习后，很多学生已经上到了高中、技术学院甚至完成了大学教育然后开始工作，从而实现自立并支撑他们的家庭。同时，2023 年中国大使馆给予该校高三毕业生提供了三个“中国政府奖学金”的名额，这将改变他们的人生，并迎来更光明的未来。

Mcedo Beijing School

A Beacon of Hope in Mathare Slum，Located in Mathare, Nairobi's second-largest slum, Mcedo Beijing School was established in 2007 with funding from the Chinese Embassy in Kenya. All the students at this school come from the Mathare slum. To show gratitude for the support from the Chinese Embassy, the school was renamed to its current name.In November 2012, the Kenya-China Economic and Trade Association (KCETA) mobilized its member companies to raise approximately 54.46 million Kenyan Shillings (about 3 million RMB) for the school's second-phase expansion. This expansion increased student enrollment from around 200 to the current 538 students.

After a decade of use, the school’s facilities had fallen into serious disrepair. To improve the learning environment, KCETA allocated 7.134 million Kenyan Shillings in 2022 for renovations, carried out by China Wuyi Company. The lack of electricity in the Mathare area had long troubled the school. In response, KCETA member Yusheng Group donated a solar photovoltaic system worth 5.82 million Kenyan Shillings, solving the school’s lighting problems. For the first time in 15 years, the classrooms were brightly lit—a historic achievement for Mathare.

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, KCETA extended multiple rounds of support to ensure students could continue their education without disruption.The expansion and renovation of Mcedo Beijing School have helped Mathare residents recognize the importance of education. Many students have gone on to attend high school, technical colleges, or even complete university education, enabling them to become self-reliant and support their families.In 2023, the Chinese Embassy awarded three "Chinese Government Scholarships" to the school’s graduating seniors, opening the door to brighter futures and transforming lives.
